Fernando Silph is a man pressed for time. He may have abandoned his League duties in title but that only opens up his schedule for task he’s long neglected. Being on time goes beyond common courtesy. It’s a demonstraion of leading by example.

To waste his time is to spill his blood.

Common courtesies are passed between every person he has to interact with. When Fernando breaks through the small talk and signed papers, he finds himself expected.

“Good morning,” he answers, eyes on the person in charge.

zenji greeted the former councilman. his head would turn to face an assistant, "escort him to the white room." the white room was a facility where study had been held. be they pokemon, human, a strange phenomenon. this was a room that only the highest under zenji had access to. the only other person to have access was his partner, Eva Morales and the commissioner.


"yahoo! name's evan, i'll be takin' ya to the back!" the esteemed youth said. evan was a fan of the, now former, councilman. his icy cool demeanor secretly being admired by the assistant as he led fernando to the room had he chosen to follow and had nothing else to say or ask. once inside he would leave fernando with a small team that was assigned to assist zenji.

immediately fernando was greeted by four scientists simultaneously. those of zenji's crew were well trained to respect those who deserved it. the four scientists standing before him would begin to guide the former councilman through the motion. leading the owner to a chair that was state of the art. before placing fernando upon it and attaching cords to his being. there was a matter of discussion that needed to be had between he and zenji.

"for now we're going to check some vitals, extract some blood, and take a piece of your skin a long with a bit of other bodily fluids later." had there been any need to check this mental state? it wouldn't be proper to skip a step. "and as we're doing this we're going to try and evaluate your mental state as of late. so we'll be asking you some questions." simple and easy stuff.

"i'd also like to see if there's been any development since seeing what happened at the end of the meeting. plus, i wanna see what your special talent is as a avatar."

ah and he should probably inform him about stormy's being here.

Fernando is indifferent to all the posturing that comes with going through the motions. Unlike the other offset of League contracted avatars, he has all the intention to cooperate when needed. Even when the outfit of the chair seems more prying than it needs to be.

“Go ahead.” So far nothing of note has changed. Whatever influence the primal fragment has on him, he’s yet to encounter it. Several key signs have appeared but he’s remained oblivious, unaware how his powers slowly start to deviate as they undergo evolution.

“But I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint you. My powers as an Avatar are quite lackluster.”



Upon further analysis, the machine will be able to read residual energy coming off the scar on his right forearm. Whatever output reads on scientific scanners proves different than the stable biosignature that flows from Tapu Fini’s influence. The traces are faint, unable to discern the origin of tis influence, but still there for them to pick up on.

the team was at work. as zenji stood by fernando's side. he would possess a smartpad in his hand. reading the results from it due to being away from the main computer that was recording all of what was happening. his vital signs were a bit...abnormal compared to stormy's. "evan, pull up stormy's records." he'd study the present screen of FERNANDO SILPH's records that were matched right alongside stormy's. carefully he examined the two.

"well this is abnormal."

there was a reading that held slight similarity to stormy's. but then there are several others, mainly two, that stood out from the first. the first indicator showed that he was, just like stormy, an avatar. but there was a reading upon his arm that was intense. whatever this was it was something never before seen, or could barely be considered normal. "and for this one..." fernando, though small, was practically showcasing an unfamiliar substance that hadn't been found upon stormy.

"you're oozing something on here, but..." where had he seen this? "...just like cooper." it wasn't heavy, but it was definitely similar to bailey cooper's medical files. "fernando, have you felt any different since the aqua aseembly meeting? did anything unusual occur over the weekend?"

[attr="class","spiral"]“Most of my powers stem from Tapu Fini itself. Unlike the others, I am not a conduit.” Fernando goes a bit more into his explanation while he waits for the results to process.

The mention of Stormy is no cause for alarm. Comparing them only seems natural. The fact that they tested her first means little to him. However, the words that come after are a bit alarming.

He’s well aware of the influence of Jirachi’s Wish Tag. It would be foolish not to look into it as well. Yet, whenever he performed his own scans, it had never appeared. Had Zenji acquired some instruments that were more detailed than his own? Probably, but hearing it confirmed nicked the concern at the back of his brain.

“No,” he answers honestly. Anything that had happened to him predates the Aqua Assembly. The influence of the fragment has yet to be recognized, overshadowed by the the many factors already at play.

“Nothing I can think of.”

by matching them to the data zenji's lab had already possessed. it was a bit alarming about the unknown energy that radiated from his forearm. "evan place fernando's diagram on the big screen." the light within the white room dimmed. a large screen would descend from the ceiling. upon was the medical diagram of fernando's anatomy.

"your body has been registered to possess an unidentified element within it. it's hard for our technology to register, so it has been deemed an unidentifiable phenomenon. but only in this part of the body." zenji's index finger would touch the forearm of FERNANDO SILPH . "also we've identified that, just like stormy, you harbor a property that doesn't belong in the average human body, and that's not all..." the screen would begin to flash the word "infection" all throughout. alerting them that his body had developed toxins.

"you now have the exact same intoxication as bailey. it's a miracle we were even able to pick up on it. it actually surprised me, you should be thankful to the engineers at aether foundation." the only reason they were able to find bailey's was due to her body practically full of it. whereas fernando only had a minimal of it, as if he'd came into contact with groudon itself.

"but even so, the amount of toxin is cause for concern. but that's not as pressing as your body being overcharged." his concern was mainly with fenrnado's health. not because of the intoxication, but his body intaking so much. "i don't know if it's healthy for each of these foreign substances to coexist inside of you. the power of an avatar, this intoxication, and whatever this foreign invader is. you need to ensure that you're being monitored properly and kept in check." the last thing fernando needed to do was overexert himself.

"you're still human, and trying to play with the gods is a dangerous path."

For someone who’s supposed to be surprised, Fernando handles the news particularly well. It’s almost as if he expected as much. However, considering the nature of Hoenn, unexpected twists prove the norm. Their sheer frequency is mind numbing.

The explanation puts together more information he could’ve scoured on his own. Silph Co., for all its endeavors, lacks the specialty that Aether Foundation has perfected. Reasons like these prove how invaluable the Head Scientist are. The thought that someone would avoid collaborating with them is abhorrent.

“I understand, Professor. Outside of extreme circumstances, I try to reserve from being extravagant.” He does not willingly play with Gods. His loathing for them and their influence is as pervasive as the toxins killing him. They picked him. “But sometimes duty calls.”

[attr="class","light"]a gentle tap from his smartpad would connect with the side of FERNANDO SILPH's crown. a bored look had been worn upon zenji's face. FERNANDO SILPH's bravado was, as per usual, commendable. even so, a man with his mind has the capability to forget that he was one with limits like any other. even more so there was his (possible) illness?

zenji would be sure to hand all of this over to Eva Morales.

"and sometimes you need to just let the phone ring. former councilman."

it wasn't exactly his job to worry about hoenn anymore. though he lived here it was natural to wanna protect your home. but he should really just leave it to...the...professionals...? zenji thought about it for a moment, "on second thought we may have to keep you on speed dial." he murmured to himself.

"anyway, whatever you're going through is unknown right now. we're not sure if it's detrimental or not, so just be sure not to use it." zenji would hold up three fingers, "try to keep the usage of your gift to the three rule limit. anymore and there's a chance you could cause an internal reaction from overuse." of course he didn't have to tell FERNANDO SILPH that. "considering it's you i'm sure you'll probably only have to use your gift once or twice, so i shouldn't worry too much."

with that out of the way, he would ask, "anymore questions before we wrap this up by getting everything we need?"

[attr="class","spiral"]“Let me know when you think the League can operate without me and I’ll gladly comply.” Fernando’s quip is met with a petty perkiness that stems from their earlier conversation after the Aqua Initiative. A flash of teeth show him in good humor, all things considered.

“While I’m here, how have the others proved? I hope, based off this news, their results put them in better health.”

He’s mostly nosey because replicating Zenji’s work would be redundant. Better to pry now and save them both time in the future.

if there was anything he needed to know, it was this, "stormy showed nothing detrimental to her health. she's fine, for now. but her data does prove helpful in comparing it to your chart." and then there was illeana who was soon to visit herself. "i was also about get illeana to cooperate. she won't be here until tomorrow." to have these three proved to be monumentally helpful.

"you a unknown factor, stormy a avatar, and illeana who is without her avatar status yet had the ability to cause the fragment to react. the three of you are by far the best subjects a geneticist could ask for." for what reason did the fragment react to illeana reyes and how was she still connected to those who remained as avatars. what was the abnormality forming within FERNANDO SILPH's body? what made the two of them different compared to stormy or any other avatar?

"the team will be running a bunch of tests with the samples you've all chosen to provide us. if anything interesting develops, i'll be sure to let you know as soon as possible."

[attr="class","spiral"]“Absolutely,” Fernando lies with a straight face. He could give two shits about the fake Silphs but that’s not something the world needs to know.

He had only confessed as such to Stormy Silph but that was a year ago. She’s altered his opinion in more ways than one. Unfortunately, it’s not enough to make him forget his cardinal rule: himself before all else.

With little more to inquire about, Fernando smiles, politely more than anything else, before extending a hand. “Sounds good.” The rest is of no consequence.

“If you don’t mind, Jabami, do send me your test results and data. I would love to see what we can do with that at Silph Co. and update your appropriately.”
